These tumors, which arise from the glial cells that surround and support neurons, include astrocytoma, glioblastoma, oligodendroglioma, oligoastrocytoma, and ependymoma. Medulloblastoma, another neuroepithelial cancer, is relatively common in children but rare in adults.
